Sending Tips

Get set up with Grove and start tipping creators in minutes.

What You'll Need​

  • A Grove account (sign up with email, phone, or wallet)
  • USDC or USD to fund your tipping wallet
  • Chrome-based browser for the extension (e.g., Chrome, Brave, Arc, Edge, etc.)

Step 1: Sign Up​

  1. Go to app.grove.city
  2. Sign up with your email, phone number, or wallet
  3. Complete verification if prompted

You can sign up without a crypto wallet — Grove makes it easy for everyone.

Step 2: Fund Your Grove Wallet​

Add funds to your Grove tipping wallet:

  1. Choose an amount between $0.10 and $20
  2. Deposit with USDC or USD
  3. Your Grove balance is now funded

Deposits are non-refundable. Your balance cannot exceed $20 total.

Where Does the Money Go?​

Your tipping balance is held in a custodial Grove wallet. This enables fast, gas-free tips. Learn more about security.

Step 3: Install the Chrome Extension​

Install the Grove extension to tip creators directly on social platforms.

Step 4: Activate Your Extension​

Connect the Chrome extension to your Grove account so it can send tips from your funded wallet.

  1. Go to app.grove.city/profile (you should already be logged in from Step 1)
  2. If you see an Add Key to Extension button, click it — done!

Don't see the button? The extension may not be detected:

  1. Make sure the Chrome extension is installed
  2. Refresh the page and try again
  3. If it still doesn't appear, copy your Secret Key from your profile and paste it into the extension manually

Step 5: Start Tipping​

Now you can tip creators directly on social platforms:

  1. Browse a supported platform
  2. Find a creator displaying an EVM address or ENS name
  3. Click the Grove extension
  4. Enter an amount and send your tip

Tips arrive in seconds.

View Your Activity​

Back at app.grove.city/profile, you can:

  • Check your remaining balance
  • View your tip history
  • See transaction details
  • Add more funds (up to $20 total)

Fees​

Grove charges a 10% fee to cover gas, facilitator costs, and infrastructure. This is included in the transaction. This fee may change in the future.

Example

If you tip $0.10, the creator receives $0.09 and Grove takes $0.01.
