Sending Tips

Get set up with Grove and start tipping creators in minutes.

What You'll Need​

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet​

  1. Go to app.grove.city/tip
  2. Click to connect your wallet
  3. Select your wallet provider (MetaMask, Phantom, Rabby, etc.)
  4. Approve the connection

Grove uses your wallet for authentication — no email or password needed.

Step 2: Fund Your Grove Wallet​

Once connected, you'll fund a Grove tipping wallet with USDC:

  1. Choose an amount between $0.10 and $20
  2. Approve the transaction in your wallet
  3. Your Grove balance is now funded

Deposits are non-refundable. Your balance cannot exceed $20 total.

Where Does the Money Go?​

Your tipping balance is held in a custodial Grove wallet. This enables fast, gas-free tips. Learn more about security.

Step 3: Install the Chrome Extension​

Install the Grove extension to tip creators directly on social platforms.

Step 4: Sync Your Account​

Your Secret Key links the Chrome extension to your funded Grove wallet. Without it, the extension won't know which wallet to send tips from.

  1. Go to your Grove profile at app.grove.city/profile
  2. Copy your Secret Key
  3. Open the Grove extension
  4. Paste your Secret Key to sync

Your extension is now connected to your funded wallet and ready to send tips.

Step 5: Start Tipping​

Now you can tip creators directly on social platforms:

  1. Browse 𝕏 (more platforms coming soon)
  2. Find a creator displaying an EVM address or ENS name
  3. Click the Grove extension
  4. Enter an amount and send your tip

Tips arrive in seconds.

View Your Activity​

Back at app.grove.city/profile, you can:

  • Check your remaining balance
  • View your tip history
  • See transaction details
  • Add more funds (up to $20 total)

Fees​

Grove charges a 10% fee to cover gas, facilitator costs, and infrastructure. This is included in the transaction. This fee may change in the future.
