How Custody Works​

Grove uses a hybrid custody model:

  • Tippers fund a custodial Grove wallet to send tips
  • Earners receive tips directly to their self-custodial wallet

Tipper Funds​

Your tipping balance is held in a custodial wallet powered by Coinbase Server Wallets. This enables:

  • Fast, gas-free tips
  • No transaction signing required for each tip
  • Simple top-up from any Base-compatible wallet

Your personal wallet private keys are never stored by Grove.

Earner Funds​

Tips go directly to the earner's self-custodial wallet. Grove never holds or controls earner funds.
